Life after CHS 1967 offered many challenges and opportunities. At Chaffey College I met my future husband, Mark Tremayne, also a CHS graduate. We both became politically active in student government and protested the Viet Nam War. In 1971 Mark and I were married, but continued our educational goals. I earned a BA and MA in English Literature as well as a life time teaching credential. For twenty five years I taught mostly honor's and Advanced Placement classes at Baldwin Park High School and South Hills High School in Covina. Mark became a Vice President of Intellectual Properties and Procurement at Citibank. In addition he earned a BS Degree from Cal State Los Angeles and an MS Degree from Pepperdine University.
We have a son, Tony and a daughter Alexandra Tremayne. Our family has grown over the years to include four grandsons, five granddaughters, and three great grandchildren. Nicklaus Tremayne, our fifteen year old grandson lives with us. He is the soccer goalie for his high school team and has been an All Star Baseball player for five years. Mark has coached Little League baseball for over forty five years. It is obvious that sports is an important part of our lives.
Currently we live in Cincinnati Ohio, where we are involved in our Lutheran Church, Lord of Life. I also am part of an active adult group known as the YaYaÕs from the YMCA. On July 5 , 2016 I completed my first novel, Destiny Revisited. It is a romantic novel that begins in Savannah, Georgia in the 1960s but spans fifty years, four states and three countries. The main characters are woven together in a tapestry of similar threads. There are forty six chapters that offer opaque borders, separating life from death, and challenges the readers to reflect on roads not taken, doors left closed, and Destiny revisited. My second novel, Seven Nights in Lebanon, is a work in progress that steps back in time to Imperial Russia and travels one hundred years later to Lebanon, Ohio.
Mark and I have been married for forty five years and have been blessed to travel extensively around the world. I am looking forward to moving to Rosarito Beach, in Mexico in a few years to start the final chapter of our lives near our only son.
This upcoming fifty year class reunion will be an exciting time to reconnect with old friends and celebrate great memories.
